Based on Thailand World Journal on March 4, Pomthiwa Nakasai, Minister of Thailand Commerce Ministry, stated that for the purpose of coping with the situation of the global economic slowdown and the export slide of the country, the development of Chinese market should be valued to raise the market share of Thailand agricultural products in Chinese market. And export to India, Middle East, Africa and neighbouring countries should be actively expended at the same time by means of participating in domestic and foreign exhibition activities and strengthening official publicity. Pomthiwa Nakasai expressed that the annual export amount of Thailand agricultural products to China exceeds USD36m. Among them, the market share of rubber products reaches 48.4% in the Chinese import agricultural products market, the market share of fruit 24.7%, rice 98.3% and cassava 64.2%. The Commerce Ministry plans to set the goal of export amount of USD177.8b-183.1b this year, up by 0-3%. At present, it is a good opportunity for Thailand to develop Chinese agricultural product market and Chinese enterprises are wished to northern and northeastern Thailand to invest in the rubber processing industry.
